Each thumbnail links to a web-sized image, usually about 640x480. All images were taken at 720x480 or higher, so "Hi-Res" links will show some more detail, occasionally a lot more.

Rainbows |
| We had some more fantastic evening rainbows, often with double bows and a distinct change in brightness across the bow. | ||

On the other side from the rainbow, the sky is glowing with sunset. | Hi-Res |
Food photos |
| Sometimes dinner looks so lovely that we stop and take a snapshot before eating. | ||
Someone was playing with photo-retouching software...

Miso soup and homemade sushi rolls for dinner. Yum!

We have had a lot of good salmon here! | Hi-Res |

Somehow dinner always looks so pretty on our little black table. | Hi-Res |
Holidays |
Normally October is in the fall (in the northern hemisphere), but this year Laura had a spring birthday. We had a very nice dinner out at the Japanese restaurant down the street. | Hi-Res |
We made Christmas ornaments out of wrapping paper, so as not to overwhelm our tree. | Hi-Res |
One of our favorite ornaments. | Hi-Res |
A closer look at the "cranedeer". | Hi-Res |
The decorated tree. We thought a Christmas Palm was very appropriate for a summertime holiday. | Hi-Res |
We had a lovely picnic for Christmas dinner in our front yard. | Hi-Res |
More lovely picnicking. | Hi-Res |
Grilled salmon, by Dad T's delicious recipe! | Hi-Res |
Dinner for two. No photos of the pineapple and watermelon that preceded the main course, unfortunately. | Hi-Res |
We gave each other a game for Valentine's Day: a Grand Prix race called Formula De. neither of us is a real-life race fan, but we really like this game. It was a big success at the summer MURP camp, too. | Hi-Res |

You can see Melbourne's central business district quite well from the end of the tram line. You can see the city from our stop also, but the view from up here on the hill is better. We both find the trams very convenient way to get downtown -- during the day they run every 10 minutes, and during the week almost all of the trams on this route are air-conditioned. | Hi-Res |
Zooming in on the city a bit. We're about 18 km (10 miles) from the tall buildings. | Hi-Res |
A lovely park on the way in to the city. The park is not too wide, on both sides of a small creek, but there's a walking trail following both sides of the creek which makes a nice loop. This is the site of those white flower pictures on the "Flowers" page. | Hi-Res |
A friend gave Laura a bouquet of camellias from her garden. How elegant and clean the living room looks without all its clutter! | Hi-Res |
Fun with symmetry. | Hi-Res |

More symmetrical portraiture. | Hi-Res |

We had a very pleasant picnic in the cool middle of spring, just before Thanksgiving. | Hi-Res |

At the picnic. | Hi-Res |
At the picnic. We were chased away not too long after these photos by swarms of ravenous mosquitoes. | Hi-Res |
This was the day of Laura's giant nosebleed -- she spent the afternoon propped up on our very comfortable sofa trying not to move too fast. | Hi-Res |
We went to the zoo in January, with friends from Melbourne Uni, for a picnic and an evening of Celtic music. No pictures of the picnic (oops) but we do have a couple of the zoo's permanent residents. This is a Syrian bear.
This bit of wildlife showed up on the side of our wheely bin (garbage can on wheels, for the American audience). We thought it'd be better camouflaged among the eucalyptus shreds in our side garden, but didn't think of the camera until after we'd moved it. | Hi-Res |
Really old pictures of Charles' temporary office |
