Changes Made for Publication
The version available here
electronically is not the final version published in
Perception & Psychophysics. Because of possible copyright
conflict, I am only making available a slightly prior version. The
reader is advised that the final published version will have at
least the following changes:
- Omitted the details of the first chi^2 tests (for elasticity
in Exp. 1) as they
added little to the ANOVAs. We also greatly shortened the chi^2
analysis of gravity in Exp.1 for similar reasons.
- Revised a paragraph in the intro (top of page 5 in the
doublespaced version) to state very
plainly how we see CQ versus KSD.
- Omitted what had been Figures 4 and 5 because they added
little to the tables.
- Changed references to ``day 1'' or ``day 2'' to refer to the
conditions instead of the days.
- Addressed numerous other small points of clarification.
- Corrected references and typos as noted by both reviewers.
