three_lrcs

Three (half) lateral range curves. The full curve would have a symmetric left side. The blue line shows the curve for the inverse cube detection function. The straight red line shows a simple "triangular" detection function. The shaded box highlights the "cookie cutter" detection function that has 100% probability out to some maximum range, and 0% beyond that. All three of these curves have the same area, or sweep width, and would be expected to detect the same number of objects in a large field with many randomly placed targets.
